Hey hey hey
Well, I figure the anticipation of 'when-will-Adam-blog-again'-fever has finally reached its apex, hence, a new post. I'm actually out in la-la land right now checking out jobs. I found one. Technically, it's not mine yet because they did not officially make an offer, but it went well. They told me all they had to do was to call my references which are my mentor teacher and the headmaster Jerry Howland, both of whom are probably the best references on the planet. Anyway, I'm pretty excited about this job, though. Get this: how many people are in Los Angeles that want a job involving theatre or acting of some sorts? what, a bajillion? I got a prospect (this job I'm talking about) which is teaching 6 classes of Drama at L.A. Leadership Academy ( www.laleadership.org/index.html ). . . I think approximately 70% of those bajillion struggling actors would like this job. Oh yeah, I would also be, basically, the director and implementor or the entire drama program. I would be devoloping the curriculum and deciding what the hell it is my kids are supposed to be learning, so, yeah.
Anywho, while I'm out here I decided to look up some old buddies. I stayed with Dan Lindberg the first night here and tonight I'm going to be hooking up with Jon Stone. Man, it's been a while since I've seen them. So between job interviews and whatnot, I've been exploring the area with Jenny Davis (from the TEP program), checking out Santa Monica, Venice Beach (good restaurant [thanks Judy] called C&O), surfing at Huntington Beach, Hollywood, Downtown, driving through Beverly Hills in, get this, our 2006 Silver Mustang that we rented from the airport (I reserved just a compact and they gave me a 'stang, it's got some pick-me-up). So, I like it out here. Oh yeah, In & Out twice, thus far. Good break, I'd have to say. Very productive, quite relaxing, and had a good time, and I haven't even gone out on the town here yet. So, things are looking up. I'm starting to make some connections that will hopefully be useful for Kelly, hey, it's all in who you know, right?
I suppose that's all for now. I have to take a red-eye back to fuckin' bean-town Saturday night and then I have to teach for ten more days starting Monday--blech. I actually think it was a idea to have this break. I was looking forward to it, thinking when I get back it's just two more weeks. HA. I totally wish I was done right now. Gonna be hard to get back in the swing.
